It is undeniable that Chinese people have some life habits that are extremely annoying such as spitting and littering. And the old man and the small boy who happened to be walking alongside were obviously surpised and greatly annoyed.
Such uncivilized behaviors could have very negative effects. Undoubtedly, this habit of careless spitting will dirty our surroundings like streets, leisure places or shopping centers, ruin garbage men's work and spoil people's daily life. What's more, spitting can help spread some respiratory diseases. It has been reported that scientists have detected dozens of viruses in the spit which can hurt people's health to a great degree. Worst of all, this bad habit may affect the children negatively and profoundly. What a curse it is if our children pick up this evil habit and carry it on.
It is high time for us to take effective measures to stop this terrible habit. On the one hand, city governments should establish some rules or regulations to ban such behaviors, especially in public places, and impose strict punishments on people who violate such rules.
